Earth's Frozen Twin Could Have Liquid Water (Here's How)

Astronomers discovered HD 137010 b - an Earth-sized planet just 146 light-years away with an Earth-like orbit.

The catch? Its surface is colder than Mars at -70°C. But if it has a thick CO₂ atmosphere, it could still have liquid water.

Discovered in archived Kepler data by an international team including citizen scientists, HD 137010 b is close and bright enough for JWST to study its atmosphere directly.

This could be our best chance to find life on a truly Earth-like world.
