30 teams in the NBA battle for play-off seeding though out the season however once you make it to the postseason do you have to be playing your best basketball player have any chance at winning an NBA title. Giannis and the Milwaukee Bucks have pulled this feat off once before but with the new addition of Damian Lillard this Bucks team looks primed to go for the franchises, third title. In today’s video we go over why the Milwaukee Bucks are the best team in the Eastern conference and what makes this team so special!

The Bucks offence in the season prior with Giannis, Jrue Holiday and Khris Middleton was lack lustre at times ranking 6th overall in points per game. However these points would almost exclusively come in either transition or drive and kick opportunity’s as their half court offence was just not functioning which was a major contributor to their loss to the Miami Heat in the first round of the post season.

The idea behind the trade for Damian Lillard is simple you bring in a superstar player who can run your offence at the highest level. All though trading away Holiday as made their defence significantly worse the idea is that if you can have a top 3 offence in the league while having a good enough defence to be average it is a much better outlook than to be struggling to score. The health of Khris Middleton also was a huge reason to why the Bucks pulled the pin of the Damian Lillard trade. In 2022 playoffs Middleton went down with a knee injury in the opening round leaving Holiday to step up to be the Bucks 2nd option on offence. The Bucks managed to beat the Bulls 4 games to 1 however the Celtics posed a much greater threat. On the series Jrue put up 21 points a game on an ugly 36% from the field. The result of this poor shooting performance saw the Bucks losing seven games even though Giannis averaged 35 points and 15 rebounds dominating the Celtics. The lack of a secondary, scoring option has never been more prominent for this team than that Celtics series. In the 2021 play-off run Middleton was able to maintain his health as he was instrumental in the Bucks winning their first title in 50 years. In game 4 of the NBA Finals Middleton put up 40, 6 and 4 on 45% shooting to tie the series. Now, add in Damian Lillard the outside, scoring problems of the past, shouldn’t be much of a concern when you have Middleton and Lillard, connecting on downtown triples. The pair both have shot above 36% from 3 on their careers making this Bucks offence deadly to say the least. Add in guys like Malik Beasley and Brook Lopez who can both shot the lights out from deep the floor spacing for Giannis has Never been better. In the quarter finals of the in season tournament vs the Knicks the Bucks offence made history. It was the first time the Knicks had giving up at least 37 points in the first 3 quarters of a game since 1962 where Wilt Chamberlain had his 100 point game.
