Finally! It's a little late but I think it's safe to say I've smashed this one :D

This time round I'm joined by fellow YouTube guitarist Chris Jones, and my Shadowrise co-guitarist Daniel Boomsma... those of you wondering if I'll have time to keep this channel going as well as play an active roll in Shadowrise, have no fear! The tables have turned, and I've managed to rope them into my own stuff... maybe expect more cameos in that department in the future ;)

This has long been a cover I've wondered about doing (and indeed, one that's been requested on multiple occasions), and I had a couple of technique hurdles to overcome before I'd be able to pull it off (no prizes for guessing where...). Thankfully, a couple of Shadowrise songs on our upcoming debut album actually required me to fix my technique in order to be able to play *them*, so with that done, there was nothing holding me back ;) Rhythm guitars are really fun for this one, though there's some trickiness going on in the bridge before the solo...

Turns out it's a lot harder to do screams on camera than it is to do cleans! When all the videos are of "the final take", it's got to be perfect the whole way through... and screaming uses up much more breath so I found myself gasping for air at the end of some of the lines... Didn't help that I was running around and flinging my hair all over the place either, but I had to get the blood flowing :D

Jackson SL3MG for all my guitar lines, SM58 for vocals, and the Fender Jazz Bass for those low tones once again. Cover also features my first public use of the Metal Machine EZDrummer library, and it's definitely an improvement, and vital for the blast beats. Trusty Triaxis tones through my Axe Fx II as usual (getting that powerful quad-tracked "duggadaduggada" in the fast palm-muted sections), and Sonatina Symphonic Orchestra, Blanchet Harpsichord and my Korg microX for orchestrations.
