Empresses & Queens - I'm gonna build me an Empire

Inspired by this song, I made a fanvideo with some ruler women who I thought this song about empire-building suited.

Catherine the Great (Ekaterina)
One of the three Russian rulers who earned the nickname "the Great". She ruled Russia from 1762 until 1796, and under her reign, Russia was revitalised; it grew larger and stronger, and was recognised as one of the great powers of Europe and Asia.
Isabella I of Castile (Isabel)
Queen regnant of Castile 1474-1504 and Queen consort of Aragon 1479-1504. Her marriage to Ferdinand of Aragon created the basis of the unification of Spain. She inherited a broke Castile from her brother, and at her death, it was a revitalised, powerful country, soon becoming the Spanish Empire, thanks to Isabella supporting Columbus's discovery of America. She and Ferdinand also completed the Reconquista, conquiering Granada in 1492.
Saint Jadwiga of Poland (Korona Królow)
Reigned in Poland at age 11-25 (1384-1399), and become one of the greatest rulers of her country. Her marriage to Jogaila of Lithuania enabled the union of Poland and Lithuania, establishing a large state in East Central Europe. Her cultural and charitable activities were of exceptional value. Her effective leadership was joined by great kindness, mercy and generosity, for which values she was later sainted.
Tamar the Great of Georgia (King Tamar)
Ruled Georgia from 1184 to 1213 and oversaw the Georgian Golden Age. With her political and military successes, she created an empire which dominated the Caucasus, and her cultural achievements made Renaissance rule in Gergia 200 years before in the West.
Maria Theresa of Austria (Maria Theresia)
After winning the Austrian War of succession to claim her throne, she had a 40-year-long reign (1740-1780) which is considered to be exceptionally successful compared to other Habsburg rulers. Her reforms had transformed the empire into a modern state with a significant international standing, she centralised and modernised the institutions, and her reign was considered as the beginning of the era of "enlightened absolutism" in Austria.
Wu Zetian (Empress of China)
The only female ruler of China (690-705), she largely expanded the Chinese empire. She instituted political and economic policies that made the Tang Dynasty powerful during her reign.
Empress Elizabeth of Russia (Ekaterina)
During her reign (1741-1762), she continued the modernization work of her father, Peter the Great. She supported arts, education and architecture, and during her reign, the Russian court was one of the most splendid in all Europe. She remains one of the most popular Russian monarchs due to her strong opposition to Prussian policies and her decision not to execute a single person during her reign.
Pharaoh Hatshepsut (Secrets of Egypt's Lost Queen)
She is generally regarded as one of the most successful pharaohs and the first great woman in history. She was successful in warfare early in her reign, but generally is considered to be a pharaoh who inaugurated a long peaceful era. She re-established international trading relationships and brought great wealth to Egypt. She initiated building projects that raised the calibre of Ancient Egyptian architecture to a standard, comparable to classical architecture, that would not be rivaled by any other culture for a thousand years.
Elizabeth I (Elizabeth; Elizabeth: The Golden Age)
Her reign (1558-1603) became known as the Golden Age. The period is famous for the flourishing of English drama, and for the seafaring prowess of English adventurers, leading to the creation of the British Empire. After the short reigns of her half-siblings, her 44 years on the throne provided welcome stability for the kingdom and helped forge a sense of national identity.
Queen Victoria (Victoria)
Ruled for 63 years (1837-1901), her reign is known as the Victorian era, a period of industrial, cultural, political, scientific, and military change within the United Kingdom, and was marked by a great expansion of the British Empire.
