Tatra 815 VE 6x6 Dakar RC Model at Beskyd Kit Show 2018

RC Model of Tatra 815 VE 6x6 "Ostrý-I" that took part in the famous Dakar rallye in 1986.
The model has a working front diff-lock. You can spot the moments when the lock gets engaged in the video - just pay attention when one of the front wheels stops while the other is turning.
Then the diff-lock suddenly makes the stopped wheel move and the trucks makes its way forward.

The model can be also equipped with the famous "šlapadla", which can be translated as "pedal boom".
This rescue mechanism was invented by Tatra for the Dakar rallye and actually used a couple of times allowing the stuck vehicle to rescue itself.
We did some off-road tests of this mechanism in model scale.
Mounting the pedals takes approx. 4-5 minutes.
