Horse Penis Cleaning

Cleaning a horse's penis, or sheath, is a specialized task that requires patience and care. Here are some tips for cleaning a horse's sheath:
Prepare: Wear gloves and roll up your sleeves. You can also use a mild, horse-safe soap or a commercial sheath cleaner.
Loosen: Use a gentle stream of warm water to loosen the material in the sheath. You can also use a hose or a large, needleless syringe.
Clean: Gently hold the end of the penis in one hand and run the other hand along the shaft to loosen smegma and debris. You can use a cotton square or paper towel dampened with warm water.
Remove the bean: The bean is a buildup of smegma at the end of the penis, just above the urethra. You can scoop out the bean with your finger.
Be gentle: Avoid scrubbing and don't forcibly pull on the penis.
Rinse: Thoroughly rinse the area to remove any residue.
You can clean your horse's sheath once or twice a year. Some horses may object to the procedure and require sedation. You can also have a veterinarian clean your horse's sheath.
