GOLD from cables (FFC) 26g Au / kg

Gold is extracted from 150g flexible flat cables by smelting with silver, lead, borax, lye and saltpetre. The lead cake was then cupelled. The resulting dore was digested in nitric, acid, and the gold residue was digested in aqua regia. The solution was then de-NOx-ed and filtered. Gold was precipitated with SMB, and the powder was washed in concentrated HCl and distilled water, dried melted and weighted.
