U 711 in Kilbotn, Norway
The submarine U711 were sunk by 44 aircraft from three offshore aircraft carriers in Operation Judgement the may 4. 1945 in Kilbotn at Harstad. The uboat base were hosting the passengership Black Watch wich sunk in the same fjord.
The U711 are resting at the depth of 55m. The reason the U711 sunk, was a valve who made leakage into the sub. The sub were filled with water and the battery made an toxic gas. The twelve onboard manage to save themselfes, while the rest of ubpatcrew fought for their lives during the bombattack on Black Watch. The grey wolfs made an huge threats for the allies during WW2.
