Breakfast: It’s Whats For Dinner!! Biscuits and Gravy
https://cookingwithlegs.com/breakfast-its-whats-for-dinner-biscuits-and-gravy/
Breakfast for dinner is so rewarding. It just brings a nice warm feeling to my heart. The best part about it is that everyone can basically get what they want. It’s like running a diner for a meal. You make a big batch of drop biscuits with bisquick, some sausage gravy and then make everyone’s eggs the way they like. It’s quick, its cheap and its easy. You really can’t complain.
For the biscuits, I just us a box of bisquick and make them per the instructions. Sometimes I’ll add some cheddar cheese to the mix and make a red lobster type biscuit.
For the sausage gravy all you need is:
A pound of sausage
Flour
Milk
Salt
Pepper
That’s really it! It’s simply 4 ingredients! Cook your sausage down, add in some flour. Make sure you cook the flour until the smell dissipates, then add in some milk and let it come up slowly to a boil. Once it starts boiling or simmering you have it as thick as it will get. If it is too thick, add some more milk. Season it as you see fit for your taste.
This is really about as easy as it can get.
When we do breakfast for dinner, I try to do this instead of pancakes or waffles. I find it to taste better and its really much less work.
For the eggs, make them the way you or your family want. In my house everyone likes them a bit different so I make them to order for each person. It may make it a bit more time consuming, but eggs are quick anyway.
Thank you for following, and if you have a different recipe for this, please let me know.
I would love to try out some new variations.
Tomorrow:
We’ll be doing burgers or pork loin but this weekend we will be doing eggplant napoleon. Stay tuned for that one!
