Technics AX7 Keyboard - Tutorial
Hello everyone.
In the next 3 videos I will be showing you everything that is on the Technics AX7 keyboard.
I'm not fully sure on exactly when this keyboard was released, but my guess is that it was released in the late 80s, so it couls be 1987, 1988, or 1989.
This keyboard was given to me by a genos customer back in 2017 about a week after I got my genos, we was talking at a genos event that was held one evening and he told me that he was going to get a genos soon, I also told him that I collect all sorts of keyboards, he then told me that he has an old Technics keyboard that he can give me, so a few days later, he came into the shop with the Technics AX7 and he gave it to me, and that was how I aquired this keyboard.
There are 3 keyboards in this range, the Technics AX3, AX5, and AX7, the bottom of the range AX3 didn't have as many sounds and functions than on the AX5 and AX7, the mid range AX5 has more sounds and functions than the AX3, but didnt' have as many as on the AX7, and the top of the range AX7 has more sounds and functions than both the AX3 and AX5 and is the flagship of the AX range.
This keyboard when it comes to the screen and button layout next to the screen looks identical to a Yamaha keyboard that I showcased a couple of years ago, to me it looks identical to the Yamaha DSR-2000, I'm guessing that this keyboard was released at the same time or slighly after the DSR-2000 and was competing with it since Yamaha also had 3 keyboards of that range, the DSR-500, DSR-1000 and DSR-2000 which makes sense to why there is a Technics AX3, AX5, and AX7, I think that the AX7 sounds better to me than the Yamaha DSR-2000 since it has better sounds (Yamaha continued with the FM synthesis on a lot of thier keyboards back in the day), it has built in reverb, and it has variations with the preset rhythms with the exception of the composer rhythms.
On this video, I'll be doing a tutorial of the Technics AX7 going through the functions & features and showing you how to use the different functions & features so you can get to know how to use the AX7 if you have this keyboard or are thinking of getting yourself one.
Enjoy!
