5 Reasons to Purchase a Panasonic Lumix TZ10 (ZS7)

Produced in 2011 the TZ10 (ZS7) is one of the last of the CCD sensor travel zoom cameras produced by Panasonic before the range became fitted with CMOS sensors.
CCD can theoretically produce cleaner images at the native (base) ISO sensitivity but suffers from slow readout of data. The slow readout limits the video recording to just 720p at 25/30 frame per second. CMOS doesn't have this limitation and hence is the reason (as well as cost advantage) that newer cameras have this device.
The camera has full manual exposure control and has the option to customise the way that the JPEGS are produced by the ability to adjust sharpness and noise reduction saturation and contrast.
By reducing the sharpness the artefacts due to aggressive sharpening in camera are reduced. By reducing the noise reduction it removes some of the intentional blurring used to disguise the noise. The two elements can be adjusted in post processing depending upon the image needs.
