Martin Foley, the 2015 Noise11.com interview

Martin Foley was Victoria’s Minister for Creative Services in the Andrews’ Labor Government and later led Victoria out of the Covid pandemic.

He has now been appointed to the Board of the Melbourne Symphony Orchestra.

As the Minister for Creative Services, Martin championed The Australian music industry and treated artists with respect as the small businesses they were with their contribution to The Australian economy.

The music industry is a $22 billion industry and employees over 200,000 people.

In his tenure as Minister, the Victorian Government has re-established for the Arts sector much of the deconstruction undertaken by the previous Liberal Government.

Martin Foley joined Paul Cashmere at Noise11 in 2015 to talk about his new government initiatives and funding projects for the music industry sector.
