Creating a grass effect base

I'm self taught so there may be countless other ways of doing this, but this is how I texture the apoxie sculpt to create a grass or moss effect when making a tree base. It's just a short snippet because I'm just starting to try video again. No noise because nobody needs to hear me breathing with my face that close to the phone.

Used a metal clay modelling tool with a pointy end and basically lightly poked holes in the clay until the entire surface is textured.
