Is your plant getting tall and leggy with leaves only at the top?

Here's how to encourage fuller growth:

1️⃣ Don't just trim the very top. That usually causes new branches to grow near the top of the plant.

2️⃣ Instead, prune much lower — about halfway down the stem.

3️⃣ Look for the small "knuckle" or node where a leaf used to grow, and make your cut just above it.

4️⃣ A harder prune encourages fresh growth lower on the plant, creating a fuller and healthier shape.

5️⃣ Many tree-form plants are regularly cut back this way. Some growers remove several feet of growth to force branching lower down.

Bonus Tip

Don't throw away the top cutting!

Snip off the healthy top section
Keep only a few fresh leaves
Place it in water to root
Once roots develop, plant it in soil and grow a brand-new plant

A little pruning now can turn a tall, sparse plant into a lush, bushy one.
