Is The MG GT Alpha A Good City Commuter? [Car Review]

The 2023 MG GT Alpha is the base model trim of the MG GT series in the Philippines. It looks good, but gets a weaker naturally aspirated engine and a more pedestrian transmission. In this Filipino car review, we take a good and hard look at the 2023 MG Gt Alpha, to see why it should exist. The top-spec 2023 MG Gt Sport gave me a thrilling drive experience, which I cannot expect from this base-spec 2023 MG GT Alpha. The MG Gt Alpha is the successor of the MG 5. While the 2023 MG GT Alpha looks nearly identical to the faster MG GT Sport, we do get some difference here like the smaller wheels and the non-power folding side mirrors. When compared to the competition, like the Toyota Vios or the Honda City, the MG GT Alpha delivers a decent performance. However, the 2023 MG Gt Alpha needs more than just good looks to sway the people away from these usual suspects. This is where the MG GT Sport delivers the goods, and where the 2023 MG Gt Alpha falls short. But if you like the good looks of the MG Gt Alpha, then it is a good and solid contender.
