Sufi Wisdom

Shakina Reinhertz talks about seeing, listening and becoming—the embodiment of the holy in Sufi mystical tradition. Wisdom is like an often hidden river that can be found in two ways. One is wisdom that comes from the outside into you, as if you are traveling in the night then the dawn breaks and shines rays of light on you. The second is to seek wisdom through meditation, prayer, or contemplation where knowledge comes from the inside out. These are the two ways that wisdom comes to humanity and knowing it is true wisdom isn’t an action of intellectual knowing it’s a knowing where our being awakens and no one has to prove the wisdom. When we hear wisdom and experience truth it comes with a certainty which is part of the mystical path called the truth of certainty. The first step on the mystical path is the listening or hearing of truth. The second step on the mystical path is experiencing or seeing directly. Then over time, as one becomes immersed growing spiritually, one becomes the truth.
