The Qualities of an Effective Christian Leader - John Stevens

What makes for an effective Christian leader? The Bible provides many models for leadership, including Kings, Priests, Prophets, Stewards, Builders, Farmers, and supremely, Shepherds. All of these models embody elements of both character and competence. Effective leaders are not just strong in one aspect of their life, but demonstrate maturity and ability in a variety of mutually-reinforcing core areas, including theological understanding, devotional vitality, leadership skills, and emotional intelligence. This talk will challenge leaders to recognise the importance of achieving balance in all these areas and encourage them to pursue personal development strategies that will enable them to grow in their effectiveness as Christian leaders.
