What is Misogynoir? #Shorts

“Misogynoir” (pronounced mi-soj-uhn-nwar) is a term created in 2008 by Black author, feminist and scholar Moya Bailey to describe the "anti-Black racist misogyny that Black women experience, particularly in US visual and digital culture,” as described in her book, ‘Misogynoir Transformed: Black Women's Digital Resistance.’

In our new vodcast ‘What’s Pimpin’?,’ artists Maddy Clifford [@MaddyClifford], RyanNicole and@CocoPeila dig deep into misogynoir and the influence of pimp culture in Bay Area hip-hop.
