How to remove and strip a 1960 VW beetle gearbox

Had a noise in my 1960 VW Beetle gearbox that has been there since we bought it years ago and thought I had better finally find out what it was.
Stripped it down to find the hardening gone on 1st gear on the input shaft and bits of teeth missing - not ideal
Once I find some parts I will put up a video of it going back together
