Experimenting with vocal phrasing techniques trying to achieve a tongue in cheek sleazy horn sounds during the after hours sound check test run of my new Voice Trumpet sounds created with the amazing TC-Helicon VoiceLive 3 at Harry's Dempsey Hill last night when Andy Chia, Natalie Alexandra and Yew Jin Lee swung by by after their show with Bani Hykal at Substation earlier in the evening. Randolf Arriola is a Singaporean musician of International acclaim with over 25 years of professional experience in performance, recordings, production, broadcast and technology. Among his multi faceted talents is his specialty in Live Looping, a unique music-making and performance concept and method where he creates and processes loops of sound with his voice and guitar and layers them into fractals of improvisations that build, deconstruct and evolve into intricate soundscapes of improvisations morphing into compositions aptly described as a musical form of Origami.
Randolf's music is the sonic amalgamation of moods, textures and harmonic vocabularies that embrace and expand beyond eras, cultures and geography. Sounds and songs are dreamed up, formed and performed from strings of thoughts, intentions and imagination that form a kind of sonic fabric of the familiar and obscure, simple to complex, minimal to dense, all interweaved with his own creative intentions and interactions with moment, space and circumstance.

In 2010 Master Drummer Percussionist and Festival Organizer Mr Rick Walker (USA) featured Randolf as a headliner for the Y2KX International Live Looping Festival in Santa Cruz, San Jose, San Francisco USA tour that featured 75 international artists. In 2012 he toured the world performing his solo album, CCCD, to audiences spanning continents from Malaysia, Thailand, Hong Kong, Shanghai to Italy, Portugal, France, UK, USA, Chile and Ecuador.

He is also active educator involved as a Mentor with the National Arts Council’s annual Noise Singapore programs that help spot and nurture upcoming aspiring young emerging artists empowering and encouraging them to hone their respective crafts and carve their own artistic paths. He is active in online social media including youtube and facebook with a wide network of local as well as international viewership and followers of his creative and personal sharings.
