Holy Mass - Divine Mercy Sunday (2nd Sunday of Easter) - 19 April 2020
In the celebration of the Holy Mass on the Second Sunday of Easter, also known as Divine Mercy Sunday, Friar Gerard Victor, OFM, encourages us to reflect on the following:
• How is Doubting Thomas a source of inspiration and encouragement for us?
• Why was Thomas not present when Jesus showed himself to the disciples the first time? Where was he, and why did he stay away?
• What can happen to us if we focus on our inner pain and wounds?
Friar Gerard reminds us that we are people of the Resurrection and what that means, citing an invigorating quote from St John Paul II. He invites us to ask ourselves:
• Am I still carrying my inner wounds, burdens and guilt within me till today?
• Am I ready to surrender these into the merciful and healing hands of the Risen Lord, especially on this Divine Mercy Sunday?
• Does my presence as God’s Beloved strike a Hallelujah note in the hearts and minds of others?
You are also invited to join us to pray in a Divine Mercy Devotion at 3pm on 19 Apr (today).
Share this with your loved ones, and let us celebrate the Holy Mass in unity with the Universal Church.
