Here we are. Another season of Scottish Premiership action is drawing to a close. And here on the final day, it’s St Johnstone versus Dundee.

Simo Valakari’s side’s fate was sealed on Wednesday night as they were relegated to the Championship, ending their 16-year stint in the top division of Scottish football. They take on a Dundee side here today who are still battling for their lives. Tony Docherty’s side — we know all three points here would guarantee their football in the top division next season. A defeat, and a victory for Ross County against Motherwell up in Dingwall, would see them drop into that relegation playoff and have to take on Livingston in a two-legged tie.

Neither side come to this game with any sort of form — both just one victory in their last five. They’ll both be hoping for Simo Valakari’s side to put on a show for these fans after what has been an ultimately disappointing season. But for Tony Docherty, it’s not about the performance — it’s about getting those three points and getting yourself on holiday to prepare for next year’s Premiership season.
