All FEMALE TITANS in History EXPLAINED! | Attack on Titan | Ancient Titans

This video explains every Female Titan in the Attack on Titan anime and manga. The Female Titan is one of 9 titan shifters in AOT and there have been several iterations of it throughout the AOT timeline. In the AOT manga we have currently seen more Female titans than in the anime, which has only had 1 Female Titan so far (Annie Leonhart). The manga displays Female Titans of the past, some of which have interesting designs. This video will explain the backstory of all Female Titans (that we know of) and also commentate on the designs of the ancient titans.

In this video I’m gonna explain every Female Titan in the history of attack on titan, ranging from nearly 2000 years ago all the way up till the present day of the series. The Female is the most versatile of all nine titan shifters.

In chapter 133, it was confirmed that certain shifters can manifest the abilities of others. Perhaps the most notable example was when the jaw titan gained both the characteristics and memories of the beast titan, after consuming just a single drop of Zeke’s spinal fluid. According to Annie it’s especially easy for the female to do the same thing, which is why Marley made her eat titan body parts before the mission on Paradis. Possibly as a result of their experiments, the current female titan has powers similar to other shifters, such as her titan crystalisation. Eren stated that Annie’s titan crystal was identical to that of the Warhammer crystal.

Another power of the female titan is it’s scream and this version has benefits and drawbacks when compared to Zeke. The benefit is that Annie’s scream literally works on any pure titan and allows her to control them to an extent, whereas Zeke’s scream only works on eldians that have consumed his spinal fluid.

Extra talents of the female titan include it’s endurance, which is probably the best of the nine shifters besides the cart titan. She was able to jog from this location all the way up to wall Maria that was a job meant for two shifters but she did it by herself after Marcel was killed. Her sprinting speed is also phenomenal, not to mention her precise renegeration, agility and hardening all being on full display during season 1.

Annie’s place of birth is not confirmed, but based on context we can assume it was somewhere on the Marleyean continent. By contrast to most eldians she was not born inside a segregated zone, as her mother was just a regular person that lived outside the walls of Liberio. Annie was the result of an affair between her mother and an eldian man, so once a blood test confirmed she was a subject of Ymir, she was sent to Liberio where she was adopted by Mr Leonhart. Being a young child she obviously had no recollection of her biologal parents, so her adoptive father really was the only family she ever had. Mr Leonhart had a similar story to Annie, in that he was from another country but was sent to the internment zone in Marley once his eldian blood was exposed. His goal in adopting her was to turn her into a warrior, which would grant him the status of honorary marlyean and as we know that brings a lot of benefits. On the morning of the Paradis island operation, Mr Leonhart finally apologised, given there was a good chance Annie would never return. He made her promise to one day return to Marley and this actually had really interesting ramifications for the rest of the series.

Early on in the mission, after marcel was eating by Ymir, Annie was the one advocating that they immediately return back to Marley. Although Reiner managed to convince them to continue, it was Annie that was then the most active in trying to complete the mission and go home. They would not be allowed to return home with nothing to show for it, so by acquiring the missing attack titan, it was at least something they could use to say the mission wasn’t a complete failure. If they had brought him back, Annie would’ve been able to return to her father and possibly live out the remaining years she had left.

The first female titan was also seen in chapter 122 and also chapter 136.
