4 Databases Every Vibe Coder Should Know (Postgres, NoSQL, Vector, Elastic) #Shorts

Choosing the wrong database is what makes apps crash under real load — and nobody wants to migrate halfway through. The 4 types and when to use each:

1. Postgres (Supabase): rows & columns, index your lookups, slice and dice like Excel. The default.
2. NoSQL (Firestore): more scalable, but know your lookups up front. Cheaper + faster if you do.
3. Vector (Pinecone): for RAG — docs and questions become points in space; nearest = answers.
4. Elasticsearch: vector + keyword search. Powers search engines.
