Triops! Wild collected babies!

Monsoon rains in the desert are a beautiful thing. Lots of things come to life. Including some of the most ancient life forms that have remained unchanged since even before the age of the dinosaurs.
Once triops eggs hatch, they are kind of fragile. But, under the right conditions they live fast and furiously. Most species live less than three months. That’s under ideal conditions.
But the eggs! When the eggs dry out completely, they live in a state of suspended animation for many decades.
