How To Repair Gelcoat Cracks Step By Step

We show the complete process of grinding, cleaning, sanding and completing repairs to cracked gel coat.

Sooner or later, you'll find gelcoat on your boat which has stress cracks. Fixing them is easier than you think, and of you've ever done any filling and sanding in a DIY context, you'll be perfectly capable of doing this yourself!

You'll need gelcoat which matches the surface you're repairing, filler (we use colloidal silica), catalyst, PVA release agent, acetone, a rotary tool with a grinding bit, mixing cups and sticks, a spreader, and sand and polishing paper.
