This channel has turned into nothing but a Ford promo channel it seems lately, but we keep getting news from the blue oval

This news is a little later than breaking, but there’s still more to see and talk about with a v8 powered Bronco

Ford is going to call it the Warthog and here’s what we know

It’s wild to think that the Bronco sport just hit lots and we still dont even have the full bore bronco and now we’ve already spied the Bronco Warthog testing in Colorado (link to TFL)

Here’s what we know so far. The existing bronco will get a 2.7 TT v6 as the upgraded mill

Makes 310 hp and 400 lbft which is more than the 2.0t and the pentastar v6 in the wrangler

However, as Ford debuted the Bronco, the same day jeep released that Wrangler was going to get the 392 motor.

It’s a 6.4 N/A v8 making 470 hp and torque and if it sounds anything like the scat pack i tested last fall im sold

Here’s the deal - we don have confirmation that the warthog inherently means v8.

Ford’s updated 3.5 ecoboost that’ll be in the third gen raptor should easily match the 470 hp and far surpass the torque number at over 520

Would it be great to see, and more importantly HEAR a v8? Yes and that could take a couple different shapes.

5.0 coyote - getting kind of old now, but in the mustang gt it makes about 460 hp which would match

Perhaps considering the new generation windsor v8 which is a 6.8 pushrod unit
Absolutely massive engine would make big power

Aside from that expect a super wide track, flared fenders and bigger 37 inch KO2s

Reinforced axles

Fox dampers similar to what you’d find on the Raptors

Also stuff from the existing sasquatch package like electronic transfer case

Front and rear locking diffs

And a lift

I know the big story here is engines and while Jeep stuffed a v8 under the hood, ford has previously said they werent going to put a v8 under the bronco so the smart money is probably on te updated 3.5 from the F150 raptor

However, that’s not a bad thing at all, like i said before that could match or outdo the v8 in the jeep it just wouldnt sound quite as good

Better fuel economy, you make tradeoffs.

Honestly I’m not 100% sure which i’d take. I really like what ford has with the new Bronco, but then there’s v8 sound from the Jeep

As far as price goes we obviously dont know anything yet since this wouldnt come out until earliest 2022, but my expectation is around the 70k mark

The first edition with 4 doors will run you 62k so a high powered, raptor-ified version with all the reinforcements and upgrades i could easily see running 70k
