Wrought Iron Suffolk Latch for the Shop - Start to Finish
A condensed version of our series on this latch project. Check out the channel for the longer series. Forging & filing the handle for a Suffolk latch that is destined for the front double doors of the Axe & Anvil shop. I haven't made very many handles like this at this point, and so this was quite a challenge- especially since I used 150-year old wrought iron for the material- a material that, while soft, tends to crack during forging if special care isn't used.
