Is it possible to install an A-TRAC button in the FJ Cruiser base model? Or any FJ Cruiser? Yes, if the FJ Cruiser comes with the rear locking diff, or differential. So if your FJ Cruiser came with a RR DIFF LOCK button then your FJ Cruiser has the technology built into it to control the power distribution as needed when offroading. This is only designed to work in 4WD low. In "4WD H" the A-TRAC system will not engage.

Toyota A-TRAC button part number: 84988-35060. I purchased mine new on eBay for around $50, search google for the part number above and multiple sites will appear.
