Maximum Distance Range Test Update : 1000 meters on my DJI Phantom 3 Standard No Mods

Update for you all! Finally hit the 1000 meter mark by applying the 4 principles that I mentioned in my previous video. Was really happy that I managed to achieve this!

Quick recap of the 4 principles:
1. Good GPS number
2. Make sure the remote control antenna is facing the direction of where your drone is heading
3. Strong WiFi Signal
4. Fly on a good weather i.e. no wind

So I wanted to test out and see if I can reach the maximum range distance of my DJI Phantom 3 Standard. I believe the maximum range that the DJI Phantom 3 Standard can go is 1000m or 1km so the purpose of my video is to document my range test and report back my findings.

Note that I do no have any modifications or used any range extender. I'm using whatever that comes in the box i.e. stock drone.

After conducting a couple of range test, the results varied however it got better each test after I made a couple adjustments:

Test 1 - about 300m distance reach
Test 2 - about 520m distance reach
Test 3 - about 800m distance reach

I feel that the following four factors makes an impact on your drone's ability to reach its maximum range distance (this can also be applied to other DJI drones such as the Mavic Pro, Spark, Phantom 4 etc...):

1. GPS Satellite Signal - the higher the number the better ideally around 7-10+

2. Remote control antenna - make sure that the antenna is pointing towards the direction of where your drone is heading. Make sure you are flying on an open space to make sure that the signal is not being blocked by something i.e. Forrest or buildings etc...

3. WiFi signal - make sure that you have a full bar on your WiFi signal, don't fly on a weak Wifi signal as this impacts your connection and transmission. I feel that this is dependent on your location i.e. WiFI dead spot locations

4. Fly on a good weather - finally if you want to reach the maximum distance do not fly against the wind or at least try to fly on a sunny day or on a less windy day.
