03 - Developing Policy Briefs

There are many variations on the idea of a policy brief -- a targeted yet brief argument calling for specific actions. The SURE project has taken this idea and modified it into what many of its partners now refer to as evidence briefs for policy. These are concise documents that combine global research evidence -- often from systematic reviews -- with local research evidence to inform deliberations about health policies and programmes. While they are often written for a wide audience, they tend to focus on the needs of health policy- makers in particular.
