Paul instructed Timothy to be careful and exact to be sure he rightly divided the word of truth. It has often been said, a verse without context becomes a pretext. Seemingly countless heresies and false doctrines arise because of the violation of this principle of hermeneutics. Some say "you can prove anything by the bible."
