Guyana 2016 Oakland Pomeroon

My mother Agnes( also known as Martina) grew up at Oakland Pomeroon across the river from Martindale P.S. Her father Domingo ( Dode) da Silva and his father J.J. da Silva built the first school. Dode died in 1936 when mom was 3 and a half years old. I felt compelled to go and see this place that nourished my ancestors.
