Santa Train vs. idiots ignoring crossing signal - Canton, IL 12/8/12

On December 8th 2012, the Keokuk Junction Railway operated their annual Santa Train between Mapleton and Smithfield, IL. In downtown Canton, Illinois, I set up my camera at the 5th Avenue grade crossing to watch the train pull in. This crossing features a set of grade crossing flashers - no gates. Well, as you will see, the train approaches, the lights and bells come on, and car after car (including a semi) IGNORE the warning devices! Thank goodness this was a slow train, otherwise it could have been messy. Nevertheless, no matter how fast or slow a train appears to be going, when the crossing signals start, YOU STOP! Simple as that!
