Senegence Foundation Review | First Impressions

Make sure you stay tuned until the end for my blooper reel so you can have a good laugh ;)

I am unable to find what finish this Senegence foundation is supposed to give to the skin. I would guess that it is supposed to be a natural finish based on its following claims:
• Non-smearing, long-lasting coverage.
• Oil free - can be used on any skin type.
• Non-comedogenic - does not clog pores.
• Adapts to skin pigmentation – versatile in that one skin color may be able to use a range of up to three different shades (or vice-versa for tanning) because of the way the color pigments adapt to skin tones.
• Helps to reduce moisture loss.
• Provides another layer of SenePlex Complex.
• Water-resistant.
MakeSense Foundation with SenePlex+ is a multi-tasking makeup product that not only gives you a flawless finish with medium to full coverage, but it also includes skin-loving ingredients such as hydrating botanicals and nourishing vitamins. It features a water-resistant finish that will keep your makeup looking fresh throughout the day, and is available in a wide range of shades to match a variety of skin tones.
The above claims were taken from the Senegence website and can be found at the following link: https://seneweb.senegence.com/us/products/face/makesense-foundations/makesense-foundations/

Final thoughts:
I would definitely keep using this and recommend it to you based on its performance, but it is a bit pricey for my liking. It retails for $50 USD – I normally spend $10 or less and I wasn’t WOWED by the difference in how this product made my skin look. It is a medium to full coverage as it claims to be and it felt nice and light on my skin, wearing nicely throughout the nearly 12 hours I had it on (I even napped in it!). It is definitely more water resistant than the Maybelline Fit Me Foundation that I normally use - I tested this by dropping a couple drops of water on my face and letting it run down. With the Maybelline foundation, it would leave a streak, but with the Senegence foundation, it did not! Fawn was a much better color match for me than the Tan shade I originally tried. This foundation also did not sink into my fine lines under my eyes and on my forehead anymore than the Maybelline foundation – they are both pretty good at not doing this. I did not use primer before going in with the foundation – I normally don’t. There are also supposed to be some skincare benefits from using this product, however, this would be a long-term observation. Yet, it did not make my skin feel too dry or too oily (I have combination skin) and my T-zone did not get oily throughout the day when setting it with the powders that I normally use.

Other products used:
Becca Hydra-Mist Set & Refresh Powder – to set under eyes & T-zone w/ sponge
Maybelline Fit Me Matte + Poreless Powder – 220 – to set rest of the face w/ powder brush\
