Auto ARCAIR gouging tractor with Lincoln Electric DC 1000 and modified LT -7

We did a thing… and made an automated air arc gouging tractor unit. This can produce precision gouge up to 750mm per minute!

What was once a Lincoln Electric LT-7 submerged arc tractor welder, is now your answer to automated ARCAIR. Guaranteed fast precise results every time, as opposed to difficult and messy handheld gouging on your hands and knees.

Designed for 10mm jointed interlock carbons, this tractor is capable of up cutting up to 100 metre perfect straight runs (100m interlink – 50m in each direction). Whether back gouging, cutting out fillet and butts welds, or cutting straight through plate, this process is countless times faster and infinity easier than grinding (a 9″ grinder is a no go), and more superior control than plasma gouging.

By research and developing tractor travel speed vs carbon feed speed vs amperage, we have calculated an automated air arc tractor parameter guide list to achieve an exact gouge width, depth, and finish.

This can be run up against an RSJ with the front and rear roller guides, or with your own fabricated 30mm x 30mm angle iron track for the wheels to run in-between (to guarantee straight runs).
