AmaZulu Royal family I Faction of family expected to hold a meeting in KwaNongoma
A meeting of a faction of the AmaZulu Royal family is expected to be held in KwaNongoma in KwaZulu-Natal today. Family members that are believed to be opposed to the recognition of King MisuZulu ka Zwelithini as the new monarch, are likely to attend the meeting.
The group includes Prince Mbonisi who has questioned the process followed to nominate the heir to the throne. The prince, through his lawyers, also says they intend to legally challenge President Cyril Ramaphosa's endorsement of MisuZulu as the heir to the throne.
The meeting will take place at the KwaKhethomthandayo palace and is likely to nominate a candidate to succeed late King Goodwill Zwelithini.
