Abstarct - The Smart Hybrid EV Charging System is an automated energy management solution designed to prioritize sustainable power sources while ensuring reliable vehicle charging. The system utilizes an Arduino Uno as the central controller, interfacing with a 16x2 LCD, an IR proximity sensor, and dual analog inputs for Solar and Grid/Mains monitoring. Its primary objective is to intelligently toggle between Renewable, Battery, and Main Grid power based on real-time voltage availability. When a vehicle is detected by the Active Low IR sensor, the system activates a relay to initiate the charging process. The logic is programmed to prioritize renewable energy; specifically, when solar input is low , the system defaults to "Renewable" or "Battery" status depending on the secondary Mains input level. Conversely, when both Solar and Mains inputs are high , the system utilizes the Grid to maintain stability. The LCD provides real-time feedback, displaying the current power source on the top row and the live charging status on the bottom row. This setup minimizes carbon footprints by maximizing the use of harvested energy before drawing from the utility grid. By automating the transition between DC solar, stored battery power, and AC mains, it offers a seamless and efficient user experience. Ultimately, the integration of Pin 9 as a dedicated charging trigger ensures that high-voltage power is only active when a vehicle is physically present, enhancing both safety and energy conservation.
