Since this was announced as prototype I was really hyped to see the deal with this. I haven't tried any Variable Action Heroes figure before but always heard good things about them. I disregarded them because of the scale, I prefer 1:12 scale for the posability and compatibility with effects, dioramas and stuff that I made along the way.

Either way I wanted to try out this line, this was the perfect candidate and here it is! I had to zoom out everything to get the full box in the screen for this figure hahah it's quite big! Although figure is NOT that big. I think it can scale well with the 1:12 One Piece figures from Tamashii Nations SHFiguarts.

Sculpt is great looking really, the armor haki in the arms and legs looks AWESOME, it's a bit of a fingerprint-catcher but nothing to worry about much. The facesculpts are also really well done, although I would have liked that at least 2 of the 3 were not looking to the side, instead on having just one. Grabbing hands are also something that could have been added but all in all, for the size, articulation and the dedicated stand, it's a great figure!

It's definitely posable although in a very limited way, I tried my best to recreate the most extreme poses using different angles and effects and I think I got a decent result, but still the almost non-existent ab crunch and the size/weight of this, made some poses a bit difficult. But I am sure it will be better than a statue!

All in all I would recommend it, if you don't want to do heavy posing sessions or things like that (because you can only use the stand included and it is not articulated) it's just great. Can do pretty much all typical Gear 4 poses and looks great in person!
