Clinch Mountain Backstep- Wilson Banjo Company at Gate City, Virginia, 17 June 2017

Wilson Banjo Company is performing the Stanley Brothers fiddle tune "Clinch Mountain Backstep" at the 12th Clinch Mountain Music Fest in Gate City, Virginia with the north face of Clinch Mountain in the background. Actually, Clinch Mountain is more like a "mountain range" than a mere mountain since it is over 150 miles long and this scene is near the midpoint. The gap seen to right of the stage is Moccasin Gap (of Big Moccasin Creek) and is the only true "water gap" in the entire 150 mile long range.

Wilson Banjo Company:

Steve Wilson - Banjo and Vocals
Joey Newton - Guitar and Vocals
Sarah Logan - Fiddle and Vocals
Brandon Couch - Mandolin
Dylan Armour - Dobro
Rob Walker - Bass

The band is based in Westminster, South Carolina. The gentlemen are all from nearby areas of Westminster in Both South Carolina and Georgia.

Sarah Logan, a native of Maine, is attending nearby East Tennessee State University in Johnson City, Tennessee and is studying in Dan Boner's Bluegrass, Old Time, Celtic, and Country Music Studies Program in the Department of Appalachian Studies.
