What the Woods Provide: Chipmunk in Watercolor

This painting captures a small, familiar moment in the woods. A chipmunk paused on a moss-covered stump, holding an acorn, surrounded by the textures of forest floor and weathered wood. It’s a scene many hunters, hikers, and photographers recognize, often without stopping to study it.
The piece is about attention more than action. The moss, the stump, and the animal all carry signs of time and persistence — quiet reminders that the woods are always active, even when nothing seems to be happening.
This work is part of my ongoing series Woods, Feather, & Fur, a collection inspired by wildlife, wild places, and the subtle moments that connect them. My channel reflects a lifestyle shaped by time outdoors — through art, observation, and respect for the natural world.
Thanks for taking a moment to slow down and look.
