A public toilet in a desert scenic spot in northwestern China’s Gansu province was allegedly built deliberately on soft sand, in a bid to trap vehicles that drive in. Merchants nearby would then charge troubled tourists an exorbitant price to help pull the vehicles out. They didn’t allow any other tourists to lend a hand.
