Merlin Lite First Taxi Test

14 to 24 knot crosswind per ATIS. 30-35 mph per Dayton news station. But I wanted to make this first taxi test and find out how the Merlin Lite handles strong winds on the ground. I was impressed. Easy to keep the center line. Easy to make turns either direction. No issues to cruise down the runway at 30 mph in a near direct crosswind. Runway 21 and winds from 270 degrees. Made a quick W&B before the test. 29% MAC with 7/8 fuel and me on board. Empty weight was only 255 lbs. with door, iPad, upholstery, and BRS. We won't have any problem making the Part 103 weight limit even with the cowl and tricycle gear. Full power runup at the end. Shows how good the brakes are. And the sound of this Polini 250DS is much more aircraft than PPG.
