Central city BBQ NOT crescent city bbq.
But it is on south rampart just 1/2 block on the uptown side of the pontchartrain expressway (interstate)
The address is 1201 south rampart. Bring plenty cash.
But good bbq. Burnt ends.
Christ Church Cathedral was the first non Roman Catholic church
in Louisiana. It was founded in 1803.

Lafayette cemetery was the place many movies have used as a backdrop including interview with a vampire.

Commander's Palace on washington avenue (corner coliseum)

in the late 60s the brennan family..

the rink on the corner of pry tania and washington avenues was originally a 19th century skating rink, but now is a small shopping mall. Anne rice did her first book signings inside this mall.

parasol's is ground zero for the saint patricks day celebrations.
its also the Irish Channels social center and neighborhood bar to the world.
there is wall to wall people that flood into the streets (which are closed to vehicular traffic for the day in the area)

and st alphonse's Art & cultural center (previously long time Catholic church) are across the street from each other.

st alphonsus served as the catholic church for the irish catholic community.
other churches served the french & german catholics such as st mary's assumption.
