SHOTGUN -- Featuring Eddie Blair & John Alexander @ Band Reunion Show
In Loving Memory of Ron Ownbey (1947-2017) and John Alexander (1948-2017). We will miss you both.
This classic Motown hit from 1965 was performed at a live band reunion show that featured several highly popular reunited area bands from the 1960s & '70s; a number of musicians had not performed onstage together in over 40 years. Eddie Blair (vocal & tenor sax) went on to become one of the original members of the Nantucket band; the group remains popular & active and continues to perform at various venues in the Southeast. After completing studies at the University of Miami, John Alexander (alto & tenor sax) became a significant jazz music influence to the Charlotte, NC community where he remained actively involved with instructing, performing and composing. The selection was introduced by Ron Ownbey.
