The reason why I love Hank Moody and where he's not like Russell Brand or other great celebrity seducers is that he's more of an asshole... a funny asshole.

We're going to be doing a breakdown of him picking up Annika Staley, from the show Californication. We're going to see some alpha male tendencies by being hard to get and making her chase by being an asshole, but doing it the right way.

A few key things that he does:

1. He acts disinterested and doesn't pay too much attention to his target... at least initially.

This causes women to feel insecure and because insecurity is a feeling we all hate, the best way to feel better is to get validation straight from the source of pain: Hank Moody. It's a subtle but effective tactic. Women do it to men, but we just don't notice.

An easy way to do it is if you're talking to a girl. Stop mid-sentence and notice something else almost as though you're fascinated by it and then return to the convo.

2. When he knows that his target likes him, he plays hard to get. He doesn't take the first bait to hang out with the girl. Rather, he makes it hard on her by setting obstacles that she should conquer.

You have to make women chase you, or better yet, give women the opportunity to chase. It's not always the case that women chase and, you know what, they love it! It's fun to be challenged. Men love it as well.

When you get good at game, you're going to seek the challenging sets and women because it'll get too easy.

3. He rewards her with attention when she doesn't give him shit tests, but when she does give him shit tests, he breaks eye contact and looks away. He uses silence and cocky funny in order to punish bad behavior.

The best way to punish someone that not only gets the message across but rectifies behavior is through doing it in a very subtle way. What's more subtle than silence?

When a girl gives you shit, just give her a "really" look. Remain silent and let her explain herself. This causes her to qualify herself to you and she's reacting to you. A girl reacting to you is a sign that she either fucking hates you or has some sort of attraction toward you.

There's much more that's going on underneath the surface, but that's essentially how he does it. He doesn't speak much, move a lot or does much, in terms of attraction. Rather, he does it in an effortless fashion.
