Does lower friction always mean less wear? While it seems logical that lower friction would equal less wear, the results from friction and wear tests using Motor Oil and ATF might surprise you!

Let's head down to San Antonio, Texas, to visit Dr. Peter Lee at the Southwest Research Institute—the epicenter of tribology. We’re putting "friction vs wear" to the test using a block-on-ring tribometer - an API SP formula engine oil vs a Type F Automatic Transmission Fluid (ATF).
