SOQL Tips # 1 Selective Filters (Index Magic)

Here’s a quick SOQL tip that can instantly speed up your queries.
If your WHERE clause doesn’t use an indexed field, Salesforce does a full table scan — and on big data, that means your query might time out.

Indexed fields include Id, Name, OwnerId, lookup fields, External IDs, and CreatedDate.

So instead of this:
SELECT Id FROM Case WHERE Status = 'New'

Make it selective like this:
SELECT Id FROM Case WHERE Status = 'New' AND CreatedDate = LAST_30_DAYS

Use indexed filters → fast queries, no errors.
