TVOntario's "FastForward" - The Information Age (1980)

This 1980 documentary previews the coming of the "information age", introducing concepts such as electronic "word processing" and an anticipated global data storage system described as the "noosphere" (a term coined by Pierre Teilhard de Chardin) that represents nothing less than the evolution of mankind. The documentary foretells a massively replicated, universally shared, electronic knowledge base that cannot be killed off, contained, bottled, or stymied - but is available for all men and women everywhere.

When I first saw this program, I was so impressed with the production value and the skill of its creators that I made a VHS copy. Here it is, in 2016, stored on the very concept it foretold, available for every woman and man who has access to the internet.
