Dolby and NBC: HDR Sports Has Arrived

A special partnership between Dolby and NBC will see NBA, MLB, and NFL games streamed on Peacock in both Dolby Vision and Dolby Atmos. Down the road, Dolby's new AC-4 codec will be used to deliver higher-quality Dolby Atmos game audio along with custom sound options like enhanced dialog or removing announcer voices. Peacock is also planned to be an early adopter of Dolby Vision 2 as it rolls out, delivering calibrated sports imagery unlike anything we've seen on TV before. It's a very exciting developement for HDR sports!
